You get lidar, you get lidar, everyone gets lidar! All four models of the iPhone 13 lineup could include lidar technology, according to a DigiTimes report. Lidar was introduced to the iPhone in 2020, but only on the Pro and Pro Max models, so this would only be a true upgrade for the basic model and the Mini. Still, lidar for everyone would be pretty nifty -- the camera feature, which stands for "light detection and ranging," is a depth sensor that uses lasers to measure distance. The camera trick can take your iPhone photos to the next level, and it also has some pretty cool AR applications. … [Read more...] about The iPhone 13 rumor mill has already started. CES 2021 news: it’s over – but here are the highlights and best tech

If, however, the particles have low densities, the study may roughly agree with both. The latter possibility is more likely, the scientists note in the paper, based on the information gathered about the seven particles studied (three in the aerogel and four on the aluminum foil). … [Read more...] about Spacecraft may have captured dust particles from beyond our Solar System

Nations have similarly failed to meet basic biodiversity targets set by the U.N. in 2010, the authors note. … [Read more...] about The planet is dying faster than we thought
