New Delhi: Data journalism, reverse visual search and mobile journalism are among the new courses that the Google News Initiative announced on Monday. The new courses are designed to help newsrooms continue innovating, Google India said. The Google News Initiative India Training Network was launched in 2018 and along with the Google News Lab, this network has helped train over 35,000 journalists across India to date to efficiently use free digital tools and resources that help elevate quality journalism. These courses have imparted skills such as the effective use of Google search operators; using reporting-friendly tools such as site-archiving and audio transcription, using web monitoring via Trends and Alerts, and tips on how to verify content through reverse visual searches and geolocating images. AMNS India partners with BITS-Pilani to provide online engineering course to employees
Steel maker Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India (AMNS India) on Monday said it has signed a pact with the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS)-Pilani to provide its employees an opportunity to enrol for an e-learning programme. The engineering programme will be for a duration of three-and-a-half years, AMNS India said in a statement. AMNS India is a joint venture of Luxembourg-based ArcelorMittal and Japna's Nippon Steel. Located at Hazira in Gujarat, AMNS India is among the top steel-making companies in India, while BITS-Pilani is a premier educational institute located at the Pilani town of Rajasthan, about 222 km from the state's capital Jaipur. IBM set to expand operations in India, says CEO Arvind Krishna
Stressing that tech giant IBM has an incredible focus on India, CEO Arvind Krishna on Tuesday reiterated that the company is on the path to expand its operations and services in the country. IBM currently employs 380,000 people serving clients in 170 countries and India has the highest number of IBMers outside of the US -- a key research and innovation hub for the tech giant that set up its first office in the country almost 26 years back.
