The Pixar Theory: Every Character Lives in the Same Universe
Jon Negroni spent one year untangling the secret world hidden deep within Pixar films. This thesis (printed in full below) originally appeared on his personal blog and quickly became a viral sensation. Negroni continues to update his post based on interesting feedback from readers. Several months ago, I watched a fun-filled video on Cracked.com that introduced the idea (at least to me) that all of the Pixar movies actually exist within the same universe. Since then, I’ve obsessed over this concept, working to complete what I call “The Pixar Theory,” a working narrative that ties all of the Pixar movies into one cohesive timeline with a main theme. It’s kind of my thing.” Wanda’s hand is strangely blackened. Agatha suggests that Wanda should surrender her magic to someone “who knows what to do with it. And I’ll let you keep this pathetic corner of the world all to yourself.” Wanda throws a car at Agatha, smashing her into the side of a house. Hayward’s new White Vision lands behind Wanda – … [Read more...] about WandaVision episode 9 recap: a muddled but emotionally satisfying final act
Jeff Bezos, the press-shy billionaire, to face the harsh spotlight of Congress
After years of avoiding the public eye, Jeff Bezos is being pushed onto a high-profile stage: Congress. Along with three other tech CEOs -- Apple's Tim Cook, Alphabet's Sundar Pichai and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg -- Bezos is reluctantly appearing on Wednesday before a House of Representatives subcommittee that's investigating the power of big tech companies. The hearing, which will be Bezos' debut before lawmakers, is part of a 13-month investigation by the House's antitrust subcommittee into the tech platforms. It follows a swirl of antitrust investigations by the Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, state attorneys general and the European Union. Bezos' participation comes despite his well-known aversion to speaking publicly, instead allowing his lieutenants to defend his company on Twitter, at hearings and in TV interviews. Amazon's CEO has carefully managed the few events he's participated in, ensuring kid glove treatment. Handling Congress, however, will be … [Read more...] about Jeff Bezos, the press-shy billionaire, to face the harsh spotlight of Congress
