NEW DELHI: Xiaomi has expanded its Note series with the launch of three new smartphones in India. The company has launched the Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro and the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max . All three smartphones come with Android 11 out-of-the-box and offer support for fast charging. Out of the three smartphones launched today, the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is the most expensive. The smartphone comes with a starting price tag of Rs 18,999. Chinese consumer electronics giant Xiaomi today expanded its Redmi smartphone lineup with the launch of the Redmi Note 10 series. At the launch event, Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain hinted what the next product the company is planning to launch under the Redmi series. As per a small clip shown at the end of the Redmi Note 10 series launch live stream, Xiaomi will soon launch a Redmi-branded TV in India. “Last year, our Redmi brand took a huge step forward towards its journey into new categories,” Jain said during the event. “We began our phone-plus strategy and we launched many new product categories such as power banks, TWS, and the fitness band. And this year, in 2021, we are proud to introduce something bigger.” In its home country, Xiaomi has a handful of models under the Redmi lineup. Amazon has opened a cashier-free supermarket in London, its first bricks and mortar expansion outside the U.S. as the company bets on strong demand for its contactless shops. The online retailing giant opened the doors to its Amazon Fresh shop in West London's Ealing neighborhood on Thursday, in what it said will be the first in a wave of shops in the British capital using its automated checkout technology. Shoppers use a smartphone app to scan a QR code so they can enter the store. They can fill their shopping bags with milk, eggs or other groceries while cameras and sensors track what's taken off shelves. Purchases are charged to an Amazon account after leaving and a receipt sent by email. There's no need to wait in line to pay at the checkout, a feature that has more appeal after the pandemic highlighted the need for social distancing.
