Uber's two co-founders have let go of some of the millions of shares they own in the ride-hailing company. Over the past two weeks, Travis Kalanick has sold nearly 33 million shares, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. That's more than 33% of his stake in Uber, worth more than $885 million based on today's stock price of $27 per share. And to a lesser degree, Garrett Camp has sold 510,000 shares, worth roughly $13.77 million.Uber investors and employees were first able to sell their shares in the company two weeks ago when its initial public offering lockup period ended. Jerry Hildenbrand 3 Aug 2019 18 We all love the Shield TV around here. It's almost universally thought of as the best way to get Android on your TV, isn't outrageously expensive, and has enough power to stream your 4K HDR content without sputtering or complaining. It's also a decent gaming console and makes for a heck of a streaming server when you use Plex or Kodi. It's one of those rare gadgets we buy that does what is advertised and more; you'll get your money's worth from a Shield TV. Another thing that isn't talked about as often is the level of support NVIDIA gives the Shield family and the Shield TV in particular. Released in 2015, it's one of the few devices that have been updated to Android Pie and the only four-year-old device that didn't come directly from Google to have it. And it doesn't … [Read more...] about The NVIDIA Shield TV is still one of the best Android devices you can buy

I chalk that up to two things — the hardware inside it and the software support from NVIDIA. Considering that, as strange as it sounds NVIDIA is doing the right thing by holding back its Oreo update. Smart TVs need to be able to show you what's on that you'll like; that's where the smart part comes in. I have a feeling that anyone familiar with the Shield TV who knows how and why this all … [Read more...] about Did NVIDIA do the right thing by holding back Oreo for the Shield TV?

A Pew survey conducted in 2014 for the World Wide Web's 25th anniversary reflected an overall warmth for the internet: 76% of people believed that the internet was "good" for society and that the online social climate was "mostly kind." That didn't last much longer.By 2018, Pew found that 62% of people saw online harassment as a "major problem" and that 79% believed tech companies needed to fix it.
