At approximately 8 p.m. ET Tuesday, Facebook Timeline began rolling out to the public in New Zealand. Since then, we've received reports of users gaining access in Canada, Germany, Holland and India as well. We'd like to track the rollout of Timeline geographically, but we need Mashable readers to help us. Have you received Facebook Timeline yet? Virtual reality has found a new role: Teaching doctors to deal with patients
For medical students and junior doctors, training can be hit and miss. Sometimes you sit down with an actor who plays the part of a patient and rehearse giving a difficult diagnosis, sometimes there's a dummy that you examine, with a colleague shouting out imaginary symptoms along the lines of "His blood pressure's gone through the floor!" or "She looks sweaty and confused now!" In most cases, your imagination has to do the legwork, converting the unmoving peach-coloured rubber torso into a patient urgently in need of assistance or the actor into someone who's about to get bad news. If you're lucky, you get to practice this way a few times a year. If you're in a pandemic, you might not even get that. With training oftentimes taking place in hospitals, students and trainers now can't go to these facilities in order to reduce the risk of transmitting COVID. Facebook Testing New Timeline Format With Single Column of Posts [UPDATED]
UPDATE: Facebook spokeswoman Meg Sinclair told Mashable , "We are running a small test of this new design globally. It's currently testing for a very small percentage of users. Timeline will not look different until you scroll down past the recent activity and app modules." Be prepared for another change to your Facebook profile: Timeline could soon be getting a makeover. The social networking giant is testing a new design for profile pages that places all posts in a single column on the left, while activity updates, friends, places, apps and other sections are on the right.
