POKEMON GO fans can look forward to new Alola forms in a brand new mobile AR game. Here is what you need to know on this unexpected news. What are Pokemon Go Alola forms? They are called Alola forms because they come from the Alolan region in the main series games. But these new Pokemon are the same species only they have grown up under different environmental conditions and so have evolved differently. Pokemon from the Alola region were first seen in 2016 when Pokemon Sun & Moon were released. As well as new creatures, the Alola region contained sun-loving variations of first-generation Pokemon, and it's these that will be initially heading to Pokemon Go very soon. NINTENDO teased a Pokemon game for the Nintedo Switch at E3 last year, and it seems like a full reveal may be just around the corner. There has been a steady flow of unverified rumour around the game since that tease. Much recently suggesting that the game will come in two editions -- as is traditional with main Pokemon games -- which will be called Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu and Pokémon Let's Go! Eevee. Those rumours gained more credence today when web sleuths on Twitter noticed that domain-registration company CSC Corporate Domains yesterday registered pokemonletsgopikachu.com and pokemonletsgoeevee.com. While there is no official link to Nintendo, publishers will often use third parties such as CSC to pre-register domains for their games so as not to spoil their own official announcements. Nintendo themselves have used the firm in the past -- specifically before the launch of Pokemon Sun and Moon back in 2016. This comes days after a logo appeared online showing the … [Read more...] about Nintendo Switch Pokemon details ‘leak’ – and suggest link with Pokemon Go

In an APK teardown on the Silph Road Pokémon GO subreddit, user and moderator dronpes has published a wealth of new findings in version 0.91.1 of the popular AR game. While Niantic's official changelog is just a simple three-pointer on in-game news, search, and bug fixes, the teardown goes into a lot more depth and reveals a lot of what Niantic has planned for Pokémon GO, the most substantial of which could be the new Quest functionality. Technically, the game already supports two of these quests: both the daily spin and catch bonuses are classified as 'quests' in the game, but the update hints at something much more significant. Quests will have two types: STORY_QUEST CHALLENGE_QUEST and quest objectives will expand from the two that already exist (QUEST_FIRST_CATCH_OF_THE_DAY and QUEST_FIRST_POKESTOP_OF_THE_DAY) to a grand total of ten: QUEST_CATCH_POKEMON QUEST_SPIN_POKESTOP QUEST_HATCH_EGG QUEST_WALK_BUDDY QUEST_FEED_POKEMON QUEST_WIN_GYM_BATTLE … [Read more...] about Pokémon GO to get in-game quests, hints at possible future mythical Pokémon release

Among the hidden additions are a series of quests, filling out the existing daily spin and daily catch bonuses with more items to accomplish. Two types of quests will be offered, consisting of "Challenge" and "Story" versions, with a total of ten potential objectives to fulfill. Update: There's a brand new Pokemon Go event kicking off and it'll see the return of all three legendary Pokemon Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza. Running from now until March 5, the event tasks players with taking on these legendary creatures in Raids and at the end, Niantic will tot up how many of each have been defeated. What happens next depends entirely on which Pokemon has the highest number of defeats. If more Kyogre are defeated, then it'll be easier to hatch the eggs of Pokemon which thrive in sunny weather between the dates of March 5 and 16. If more Groudon or Rayquaza are beaten, though, then the rainy or windy Pokemon eggs will be preferred. Read on to find out more about changes to Raid Battles, Exclusive Raids and new Gym features in the game. Original article continues below...
