Google is teaming up with two global insurers to cover cyber breaches and related risks for businesses that use its cloud services, the first time a major provider has opened up such insurance to its clients, the companies said on Tuesday. Major insurers have been treading carefully on cyber risks for years, but the tie-up between Google, Allianz and Munich Re gives the insurers special access to data to see what controls are in place at client firms to help them price the risk. "This is extremely key. This is data that we as insurance carriers traditionally have not had access to," said Thomas Kang, head of North American cyber, tech and media at Allianz's AGCS unit. You can now switch profiles on Google Chrome easily, here’s how
Internet search giant Google has revamped “its profile experience” on its internet search browser Chrome . As per Google, this will make it easier to create, customise or switch within Chrome. The new update of Chrome will allow users to create separate profiles that can have their custom colour schemes, background, bookmarks, saved passwords and reading list. “Using different colours for different profiles makes it easy to distinguish them at a glance,” Google in a blog post. These different Chrome profiles will be accessible across devices once the sync is enabled. Brave takes on Google with privacy-focused search engine
Browser maker Brave has acquired a search engine project that prioritizes user privacy , a distinction it hopes will set it apart from Google , the undisputed leader in internet search. On Wednesday, Brave said it had purchased Tailcat , which was developed by Cliqz, a privacy-minded subsidiary of Germany's Hubert Burda Media . Tailcat, which Burda shuttered in 2020 , was designed to show results without logging user search activity or building a profile. Everyone who browses the internet is familiar with advertising. Regardless of what browser , search engine or social media app we use to search the web, every day we are peppered with ads that prey on our aspirations and insecurities to sell us products. An entire generation has grown up believing that if you want to check in on your friends, learn new skills or just entertain yourself then the cost of doing business is companies will exploit your personal data to sell you things. So why is this the case? When the internet’s infrastructure was first being built, the major platforms understandably needed to make money early on, and decided that showing advertising on top of content was the quickest solution.
