NEW DELHI: Indians seem to be buying more and more smart watches and wireless earbuds. According to the latest IDC report, the India wearable market posted a remarkable 144.3% year-over-year (YoY) growth in 2020. The report adds that India was the only country in the list of top 20 which witnessed triple-digit growth in the wearables segment in 2020. The report also revealed that this growth was majorly driven by increase in the acceptance of earwear devices and upgrades to watches from wrist bands. 4Q20 (Oct-Dec 2020) recorded the biggest quarter for wearables in India, maintaining triple-digit growth. Overall, vendors shipped 15.2 million units in 4Q20, growing 198.2% YoY Earwear device shipments grew more than threefold in 2020 compared to the previous year, mainly driven by the affordable launches, and expanding use cases beyond entertainment like virtual meetings and e-learning requirements. The upcoming laptop will be running "JioOS," which is tipped to be an Android fork. It could feature a Snapdragon 665 chipset, an HD display, and 4G LTE connectivity. India's largest mobile network operator Reliance Jio is developing a low-cost laptop with 4G LTE connectivity, according to a new report from XDA Developers . The upcoming device is said to be called the JioBook and will run an Android fork that could be dubbed JioOS. NEW DELHI: Smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched its latest Note 10 series smartphones in India recently. It appears that after the new launch, the company has started slashing the price of the last year launched Redmi Note 9 smartphone. Launched in July last year, the company has now slashed the price of all three variants of the Redmi Note 9. The price of the base variant and the top-end variant has been reduced by Rs 1,000. Whereas, the 4GB RAM and 128GB version has witnessed a price drop of Rs 500. Redmi Note 9 4GB RAM and 64GB version was launched at Rs 11,999 and it can now be purchased at Rs 10,999. On the other hand, the 4GB RAM and 128GB variant and the 6GB RAM and 128GB version can be bought at Rs 12,999 and Rs 13,999 respectively after the price drop. Since then, we've received reports of users gaining access in Canada, Germany, Holland and India as well.
