See New Year’s Eve Through Google Glass in Times Square

Amid the sea of smartphones and handheld cameras capturing the iconic Times Square ball drop on New Year's Eve was at least one pair of Google Glass . Mashable 's Associate Entertainment Editor Brian Anthony Hernandez, above, wore Google 's wearable technology in New York City to take photos and record videos of the action and festivities surrounding the ball drop during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve . Between Miley Cyrus twerking on Robin Thicke and 'N Sync reuniting on stage, it's hard to choose the craziest performance from Sunday's 2013 MTV Video Music Awards . Nobody hosted this year's ceremony in Brooklyn, which meant more time for Moonman speeches, celebrities throwing shade and dazzling performances. Miley Cyrus Has 2 Songs in iTunes Top 10 Despite VMAs Backlash

You were incorrect if you envisioned Miley Cyrus' career taking a tumble after her raunchy performance at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards. If the iTunes sales charts are any indication, her gyration-filled antics are paying off. Cyrus has two of Tuesday morning's top 10 singles with new song "Wrecking Ball" at No. 3 and "We Can't Stop" at No. 6. "Blurred Lines," the track Cyrus helped Robin Thicke perform at the VMAs , is sandwiched between them at No. 5. 2008: The Power of a One-Word Tweet One of the earliest examples of Twitter's ability to make change came when one young U.S. student secured his release after a wrongful arrest. On April 10, 2008, James Buck, a University of California, Berkeley grad student was photographing an anti-government protest in Mahalla, Egypt, when he was seized by the authorities. He managed to send a quick tweet -- "Arrested" -- which prompted his followers back home in the U.S. to contact not just the University and the American Embassy, but also media organizations, that were able to put pressure on the Egyptian authorities.
