The dance classes are fun, especially when working out with my partner. I can't follow the moves properly, but as long as I'm flailing my arms and legs like an electrocuted spider, my heart rate stays high and I seem to be getting a good workout. We laugh a lot, and it's quickly becoming a fun thing we do together during lockdown. The music on a lot of the classes is not what I'd choose, but it works well for the workouts, and the classes are done to the music, so often when the beat drops, the movement kicks up a gear. It feels like I'm really in an exercise class. I'm not really in an exercise class. This means I'm also not in a busy gym, being forced to sweat and feel embarrassed in front of 20 other people and then having to get changed, inevitably next to that one man who insists on standing there with his gentleman sausage on display. (Is a towel really that much trouble, buddy?) Cycling on the Wattbike Atom is superb. It's comfortable and I'm really enjoying using … [Read more...] about One week with Apple Fitness Plus: Beating my lockdown weight gain
How to use apple remote desktop over the internet
Turn your desktop into an invisible wireless charging pad and get a $35 power bank for free
Settings up the UTS-1 is a little more involved than simply plugging it in. For starters, it only works if your desk or table is between about 0.7 and 1.0 inch thick, so it behooves you to measure your furniture before ordering. The reason? The 30-watt charging coils need to reach your phone through the desk and the gadget is tuned to go through the desk to reach your phone. … [Read more...] about Turn your desktop into an invisible wireless charging pad and get a $35 power bank for free

If you wondering what to do in case you receive the notification? “Thankfully, if you do receive a message with the text string in it, you can reboot your device and things should be back to normal,” says the report. To recall, back a similar kind of bug affected Apple devices in 2018. It was found that a Telugu language character corrupted iPhones if it was received in a message, in a document or pasted into a text field. If users got the particular character in a notification on the handset, it could block the iPhone's entire Springboard (the system software that manages the Home). Apple issued a fix for the same within hours. … [Read more...] about Text bomb: This message may crash your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac

"It’s a gold rush for a prime piece of real estate."A new ruling from a judge at the National Transportation Safety Board has paved the way for commercial drone flights to begin legally in American skies. Project Loon and Facebook’s drones could, someday soon, also be used to help provide internet access in rural America, where broadband access is spotty and expensive. "Right now the stratosphere is wide open," says McClatchie. "It’s a gold rush for a prime piece of real estate that the big internet companies think will be very valuable in the decades to come." … [Read more...] about Google’s balloons versus Facebook’s drones: the dogfight to send internet from the sky
Google unveils ‘Project Loon,’ an experiment to bring balloon-powered internet to ‘the entire world’
Google has unveil what it's calling its "latest moonshot" out of the Google X labs. It's called "Project Loon," and as reported last month, it involved sending up a huge number of giant balloons to beam down internet access to remote regions around the globe. Google says that balloons make sense for this purpose — they're cheap to deploy and can provide wireless coverage in areas that would otherwise be difficult to serve due to geography. … [Read more...] about Google unveils ‘Project Loon,’ an experiment to bring balloon-powered internet to ‘the entire world’
