Samsung rolls back Android 11 One UI 3.0 update for Galaxy S10 series, claims report
South Korean tech giant Samsung recently rolled out Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update for the Galaxy S10 series smartphones. However, it appears that the company has pulled back this update. According to a report by Sammobile, the One UI 3.0 update is no longer available for the Galaxy S10 series smartphones. This includes both over-the-air updates and those installed through SmartSwitch, suggests the report. As per the report, the update seems to have been rolled back after several complaints from users about heating and trouble with camera blurring. “There may also be as yet unreported bugs that have compelled Samsung to pull the update,” adds the report. As of now, there is no official word from Samsung on the matter. Earlier this week, the consumer electronics giant rolled out the Android 11 update for its Galaxy M31 smartphone in India, making it the first mid-range smartphone of the company to receive Android 11 update. Back in December, the company announced … [Read more...] about Samsung rolls back Android 11 One UI 3.0 update for Galaxy S10 series, claims report
Parler loses bid to have service restored by Amazon
A federal judge has rejected Parler's demand that Amazon.com Inc. restore web hosting services for the social media platform, which the company had cut off following the storming of the US Capitol on 6 January 2021. US District Judge Barbara Rothstein in Seattle said Parler failed to show it was likely to prevail on the merits of its claims, or that the public interest supported a preliminary injunction requiring the restoration of service. Amazon Web Services suspended Parler on 10 January. It has said Parler violated its contract by ignoring repeated warnings to effectively address steady growth in violent content, including calls to assassinate prominent Democratic politicians, leading business executives and the media. Parler said Amazon had no contractual right to pull the plug, and did so out of "political animus" to benefit Twitter Inc., a larger Amazon client that Parler said did not censor violent content targeting conservatives. Many supporters of former US … [Read more...] about Parler loses bid to have service restored by Amazon
Google parent Alphabet is shutting down its ‘balloon internet company’
OAKLAND: Google parent Alphabet Inc is shutting down its internet balloon business, Loon, which aimed to provide a less expensive alternative to cell towers, saying that "the road to commercial viability has proven much longer and riskier than hoped." Founded in 2011, Loon aimed to bring connectivity to areas of the world where building cell towers is too expensive or treacherous by using balloons the length of tennis courts to float solar-powered networking gear high above the Earth. But the wireless carriers that Loon saw as buyers of its technology have questioned its technical and political viability. "While we’ve found a number of willing partners along the way, we haven’t found a way to get the costs low enough to build a long-term, sustainable business," Loon chief executive Alastair Westgarth said in a blog post. Alphabet executive Astro Teller said in a separate blog post that despite Loon's "groundbreaking technical achievements" over the past nine years, "the … [Read more...] about Google parent Alphabet is shutting down its ‘balloon internet company’
