You'll also need to update your iOS app, because you might be prompted to log in to sync your locks. Once that's done (and you're a recognized owner), though, you'll be able to view all the August locks you have on the Watch's screen. If you want easy access to a specific lock, you can even add it as a Watch face shortcut. August Home says it's a different feature from Auto-Unlock, since you'll still have your phone nearby with that one. With this particular feature, all you'll really need is Apple Watch itself. … [Read more...] about Apple Watch can now unlock your August Smart Lock
Article Contents1 Accessory support2 Better vehicle integration3 Using your phone as a keyboard4 Messaging hub5 More powerful music search6 Wrapping up Google unveiled Android Auto way back at I/O in 2014, but it didn't reach vehicles until May of 2015 when Hyundai added it to the Sonata. If you looked at Android Auto from 2015 and compared it to the current version, you'd see precious few differences. Google has been slow to improve Auto, but at least we got wireless projection. That tells us Google is still working on Android Auto, but it's still missing some features we've wanted ever since we got our first glimpse at Google's infotainment platform. Here are four features we still want to see in Android Auto. Accessory support Your car or head unit probably has buttons that can control Android Auto, but what if you could add more? Right now, you're counting on car designers to put buttons and knobs in the right place and make them work with Android Auto. I find I often have to … [Read more...] about Android Auto wishlist: Five things Google’s infotainment system is still missing
Article Contents1 Intro2 Story3 Graphics4 Controls5 Gameplay6 Monetization7 Conclusion PerBlue Entertainment's Disney Heroes: Battle Mode is an upcoming free-to-play hero collection auto-brawler that takes advantage of both Disney and Pixar licenses for its theme. I have been able to get my hands on a working pre-release version, so I figured why not give some insight on what this game has to offer before it officially releases so that our readers will have a good idea what to expect. So without further ado, here are my thoughts on the beta of Disney Heroes: Battle Mode. I would like to briefly mention that Disney Heroes: Battle Mode is a soft-launch beta title. Due to its unavailability in my region, I have sideloaded the APK (version 0.2.3) in order to test the gameplay. There may be a few adjustments made to the game before it officially launches, so please take that into consideration when reading this hands-on. Intro At first, I wasn't too enthused about doing a hands-on … [Read more...] about [Hands-on] Disney Heroes: Battle Mode, a boring auto-brawler with a kid-friendly theme

The film adaptation of Ready Player One bares its broken, disappointing nerd heart better than any negative review possibly could. The telling moment takes place nearly halfway through the teen-adventure romp, when unlikely, awkward hero Wade Watts begins winning a major contest within the futuristic film's virtual-reality universe (mirroring the same plot as its namesake book). An evil corporate overlord named Nolan Sorrento swoops in with designs on recruiting Wade, and to do this, he lays out tantalizing geek-iverse offers (like a Millennium Falcon to use in the film's "Oasis" VR world) and trades blows in a nerd-trivia exchange about '80s films. All the while, a lackey feeds nerdy factoids into Sorrento's ear so that he sounds legit. Wade calls BS on this rattling of nerd credentials and reminds Sorrento that a real fan of the Oasis wouldn't try to win its control-swaying contest with trivia alone. Sorrento's response, upon being called out, is to lash out with senseless violence. … [Read more...] about Ready Player One film review: Where’s the secret code to unlock the heart?
When the Apple Watch's Auto Unlock works, it's magical. You open or approach your Mac while wearing your Apple Watch and, instead of having to type in your — hopefully long, strong — password, it just logs you in. No fuss. No muss. But when it's not working, you might feel anger, frustration, blame, recriminations, along with having to type in that — hopefully long, strong — password. Not so much fun. So what can you do when Auto Unlock doesn't work? Here's an in-depth guide to help you out. Some basic Auto Unlock troubleshooting If you can't enable Auto Unlock (or it was working, but stopped), here are a few of more obvious problems we've run across: Your Mac is not compatible: Remember, to use Auto Unlock, you must have a 2013 Mac or newer. Your software isn't compatible: If you own an Apple Watch Series 0, 1, or 2, you'll need watchOS 3 or later and macOS Sierra or later to use Auto Unlock; the Apple Watch Series 3 requires watchOS 4 and macOS High Sierra or … [Read more...] about Can’t unlock your Mac with your Apple Watch? Update 1: 2018/03/16 7:46PM PDT Google confirms 'Swipe up to unlock' The Android Auto team has been known to put safety above all else. Most people agree that's the best strategy, but there have been some scenarios where users have pointed out that certain decisions may be over-reaching, or they might not account for common scenarios. One of the biggest points of contention since the launch of Android Auto has been a feature that effectively locks users out of their phones while connected to Android Auto. In the last couple of days, users are now being presented with the ability to swipe up and unlock their phones to use them normally. The common complaint about the lockout screen cites that passengers can safely use the connected phone to do things faster or more easily than they can be done through the Android Auto interface. For example, I routinely hand my phone over to friends so they can pick music, which is notoriously unpredictable with just voice commands. March 16, 2018 - Written By Justin Diaz Android Auto has a new Swipe To unlock feature that allows phone interactivity, which is likely to be a huge benefit to some users with Android Auto in their vehicles. Google has yet to confirm the addition of this feature and it’s not clear when exactly it was added, but it had to have been recently as it wasn’t showing up for some users within the last few weeks. With no announcement from Google as to the reasoning for bringing this feature to the platform, it’s also unclear what Google is aiming to do by adding this in the first place. Initially Google disabled any use of the phone while it was plugged into the car for use with Android Auto so people wouldn’t be able to use their phones while driving. This was Google’s effort to help stem the tide as it were in regards to vehicle accidents and the potential danger people could put themselves and others in by using their phone behind the wheel. Now, though, … [Read more...] about Android Auto ‘Swipe To Unlock’ Allows Phone Interactivity
David Marquardt's Glitch Dash is his third game released on the Play Store, and oh boy did he ever hit this one out of the park. Unlike most auto-runners, this is not a game for casuals. The difficulty is high, and it only gets higher the further you progress. Now I'm not saying this to scare away players as this is a beautiful running game that is a blast to play, but rest assured it will be quite a challenge to reach the end. When you first boot up Glitch Dash, you will have to play through an intro level that teaches you the primary controls of the game. Like most auto-runners, you will swipe up to jump, swipe down to duck, and swipe left and right to move in those corresponding directions. Your main goal is to make it through each stage. Your secondary goal is to collect all of the pink diamonds scattered throughout those stages. Now the thing is, it can be pretty difficult to make it through a level without dying. Luckily there are optional advertisements you can watch … [Read more...] about Glitch Dash is a brutally challenging auto-runner that demands quick and precise movement
