Mike Nichols, film and stage director, writer, producer and Academy Award winner, has died, ABC reported Wednesday . He was 83. Nichols' illustrious career includes The Graduate , for which he had won the Acadamy Award for Best Director in 1968. See also: 25 Best Free Android Apps He is also known for adapting Edward Albee's famous play, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf , for the big screen. His other noteworthy films include the adaptation of Joseph Heller's novel Catch-22 , Silkwood , Working Girl and Closer . Nichols has also been involved in many Broadway stage productions, winning a Tony award in 2012 for his revival of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman . The 65-year-old raised two kids after a divorce and struggled to make ends meet even while working two jobs. She missed utility bills and had to seek assistance. Joan Rivers Is Dead at 81
Joan Rivers, the comedian and TV personality whose relentless humor and sharp tongue fueled a career that spanned more than four decades, died on Thursday, her daughter said in a statement. She was 81. Robin Williams, Cherished Comedian and Oscar-Winning Actor, Dead at 63
Robin Williams, the frenetic standup comedian and inimitable TV and film star whose richly dramatic side won him a supporting actor Oscar for Good Will Hunting , has died, authorities and his personal representative confirmed to Mashable . He was 63. A preliminary Marin County coroner's release (screenshot below) said Williams apparentlly committed suicide via asphyxia at his home near San Francisco. A statement from his longtime personal publicist also indicated that the actor had taken his own life: “Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss.
