Sadly, the device was not mentioned at all. During its keynote, Apple introduced new software updates and features. It unveiled iOS 12, macOS Mojave, watchOS 5 and tvOS 12. The announcements of the updates were expected since Apple teased ahead of WWDC that the event would be software-focused. However, Apple did announce a new hardware product on the first day of the conference. The Cupertino giant introduced the new Pride Apple Watch band, which sports the colorful hues of the rainbow, with white stripes separating each color. Unfortunately, that was the only hardware announcement on Monday. Because Apple officials made no mention of the AirPower, … [Read more...] about When Is Apple Launching The AirPower Wireless Charging Mat?
By Mark Gurman Bloomberg Mon., April 9, 2018 Apple Inc. announced new versions of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in red, keeping its entry-level iPhones fresh after being overshadowed for months by the iPhone X. The new colour scheme is part of the “PRODUCT(RED)” initiative, a program that gives a percentage of sales to the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS. Apple didn’t announce a red version of the iPhone X, which remains available in either grey or white. It’s the second year in a row that Apple has rolled out a red version of its latest iPhone. Last March, Apple launched a red iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and discontinued those models about six months later when the initial iPhone 8 line launched. The red iPhone 8 models cost the same as the gold, grey, and silver versions, at $699 (U.S.) for the smaller model and $799 (U.S.) for the Plus. The new colour goes on pre-order Tuesday and is available in stores from April 13, Apple said. Read more: … [Read more...] about Apple launches red iPhone 8 after being overshadowed by iPhone X

In January, Apple said it would introduce new features to help parents control their children’s use of the company’s products. The move came after two Apple shareholders posted an open letter pushing Apple to address what is seen as a “growing public health crisis” of smartphone addiction in young people. Now, Apple has a new page on its site that collects information about the company’s family features and parental controls in one place. The page showcases features including: an Ask To Buy tool that lets parents approve or decline app purchases from their device; an app management feature that lets users automatically block in-app purchases automatically; and the option to limit adult content on kids’ devices and restrict browsing to only pre-approved websites. Apple’s Find My Friends can also help track locations and issue alerts when children leave or arrive somewhere. “We’re continually designing new features to help make sure … [Read more...] about Apple launches new Families page that puts all its parental tools in one place

Especially some zealots on this site and others will point that out. If Apple introduces a so called budget version of their iPhone, then they are only competing with themselves, and in the long run cannibalizing their higher priced iPhones. Also Apple will be turning themselves into a Microsoft where even the lower tiered iPhones will be able to run the all the same apps. So why by a higher priced iPhone then. I really don't see Apple doing this, unless Apple is more interested in gaining market share. posted on 13 hours ago 1 2. Apple is bringing employee healthcare in-house with a new line of clinics, called AC Wellness. On its website, the venture describes itself as “an independent medical practice dedicated to delivering compassionate, effective healthcare to the Apple employee population.” From what we can tell, it seems it aims to cover the functions of a primary care clinic, but with all the high-end trappings you’d expect from Apple. The About page of AC Wellness promises “high-quality care,” and a “unique patient experience.” It also states care will be “enabled by technology,” which isn’t particularly surprising, given health-tech has been an area of interest for Apple recently. According to CNBC, AC Wellness will launch two clinics in Santa Clara, California. One is in close proximity to Apple’s Cupertino HQ, while the other will conveniently be located within the quirky new Apple Park HQ. AC Wellness is actively recruiting healthcare … [Read more...] about Apple launches in-house employee healthcare service, called AC Wellness
Apple is turning up the heat on Android with a fresh redesign of its website that teaches smartphone customers how to transition to iPhone. The new site makes it super-easy for Android users to make the change to iOS by promoting one of Apple’s only Android apps: Move to iOS. Packed with simple FAQ segments on the iPhone’s top features, the new site comes after Google created a tool at the end of 2016 that helps iPhone owners switch to Android. Visitors will find details how to move critical data from apps on an Android phone to an iPhone, as well as info on what makes the iPhone’s hardware and software different from competing smartphones. Specifics about the iPhone’s camera and processor are both covered in the new site as well as other areas like the environment, customer service, Apple stores and personal privacy. To promote the new campaign, Apple published a series of short new ads that highlight how easy it is to move photos and music to an … [Read more...] about Apple launches new ‘Switch to iPhone’ ads and website
