Japanese gaming giant Nintendo has finally revealed the first new Pokemon games coming to its popular Switch gaming console (Pokken Tournament doesn't count as it came out on Wii U first) — and one's available to download for free right now. The video game company announced the three new Switch titles at a press event in Tokyo, and all of them are coming in 2018. The first of those to be available is Pokémon Quest — a non-traditional series’ entry where, instead of playing as a pocket-monster trainer, you directly control a group of cube-shaped Pokémon called Pokéxel. Developed by series-creator Game Freak, Quest’s described as a "rambunctious action RPG" and its blocky low-fi graphics are somewhat akin to mobile hit Crossy Road... so it’s perhaps no surprise that the game is scheduled to be released on both Android and iOS at the end of June this year. Pokémon Quest is already available on the Switch's eShop … [Read more...] about Nintendo’s Switch is getting three new Pokémon games in 2018
All new pokemon
GAMEFREAK today announced the news Pokemon fans have been waiting for since E3 last year - details on the games that will bring the franchise to Nintendo Switch for the first time, and two of them are coming out this year. Out today for Switch and coming in June for Android and iOS, Pokemon Quest is a "rambunctious" action RPG for Switch and for smartphones. November 16 will see Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee released for Switch, with an as-yet-untitled third title coming next year. Pokemon Quest sees players attracting cube-like pixelart Pokemon to their encampment on Tumblecube, then sending them out in squads of three to do battle with wild Pokemon, without the obvious involvement of a trainer. While it will be free to download and play, players can buy Expedition packs on the Nintendo shop which well allow them to attract more Pokemon, get more loot, and give players special Pokemon directly. 2019 will see a more traditional Pokemon game coming to Switch -- … [Read more...] about Pokemon Switch release dates confirmed as THREE new Nintendo Pokemon games announced
The Pokémon franchise is expanding its presence on the Nintendo Switch with two new role-playing games: Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! When both games launch on November 16th, players will get the chance to experience many firsts for the series: couch co-op, mobile integration, and big-screen play, all in the style of Pokémon’s traditional RPGs. It’s a step forward for Pokémon that begins with a look back. The Let’s Go games draw heavily from the handheld Pokémon titles, but they’re also as close to a reboot as the game series has ever come. These new games focus primarily on the Kanto region, home to the original 151 pokémon; the player’s titular partner, whether Pikachu or Eevee, prefers to hang outside of its pokéball, just like in Pokémon Yellow. “These games, Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, we took inspiration from and used Pokémon … [Read more...] about Two new Pokemon RPGs are coming to the Switch this November

In Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, Pikachu, who has been the series’ de facto mascot since its inception, speaks in human words. The film released in Japan back in July but now American audiences are hearing Pikachu speak and… they aren’t exactly taking it well. This reaction was posted on Twitter by BuzzFeed’s Ryan Broderick. When Pikachu says he “always wants to be with you” to his trainer, Ash, the audience reaction is immediate. While some applaud hearing Pikachu speak, the majority of the folks in attendance aren’t as thrilled. The gentleman who says “the fuck?” echoes the sentiments of everyone who is confused by all of this. Hi, I am just learning that Pikachu speaks English in the new Pokemon movie and, yes, it is extremely fucking weird … [Read more...] about Pikachu Speaks in the New Pokémon Movie and Everyone is Freaking Out
