A man robbed bank employees Wednesday afternoon at a College Area branch of Citibank, police said. The heist was reported just after 3:15 p.m. at the Citibank on the corner of El Cajon Boulevard and 60th Street, just west of College Avenue and the bustling Campus Plaza shopping center, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said. The suspect walked in, demanded money from the tellers, received an undisclosed sum and then fled, Heims said. He was last seen running north on 60th Street away from El Cajon Boulevard into a residential neighborhood. No detailed description of the suspect was available. He was heavyset and wore dark clothing, police said. Detectives from the San Diego Police Department’s robbery unit were investigating the heist.
